After you collect 120 stars, defeat Bowser in the Bowser in the Sky level. Bowser's final message will be a little different.

After you collect 120 stars, a cannon will open outside the castle. Use the cannon to shoot Mario onto the roof of the castle. There you will find Yoshi. Yoshi will have a message, give you 100 lives and upgrade your triple jump.

Complete Bowser in the Sky to view the game's ending. Plug a controller into slot #2 and use the control stick to alter the camera.

After you collect 120 stars, re-visit the penguin in the Cool, Cool Mountain racetrack. He will be massive. His incredible frame makes him much faster and more challenging.

To heal Mario quickly, dive in water and then surface.

In Shifting Sand Land you can do a little trick with hats. Go to the oasis and let Klepto the Condor steal your cap then, climb to the top of one of the tower. As the condor approaches you, punch him and he will drop your cap. Do not pick up the cap instead walk to the tree. There, Mario will warp to the other end of the level. On the other side of the level collect the wing cap and fly back to the oasis and pick up your cap. The cap will stay in your hand and you will not take damage.

In the Secret Slide level a shortcut can be attained. Once you come out of the first tunnel, jump to the left. If you time it right, you will land on another part of the course for a nice shortcut.

You can jump right to the end of the Cool, Cool Mountain slide. At the midway point between the second and third turns (there is a dip in the level), fall to the left.

You will land almost at the end of slide.

When you see a row of coins pointing to a wall. Follow the coins path and you will go right through the wall into a secret path. The path is shorter and it contains two lives.

When you reach the first blue and black rotating checkerboard platform, go on it and crouch. Perform a back flip when you are near the higher blue platform to land on it. This shortcut will allow you to skip a considerable part of the level.

Just before the first flame blower on the step steel platform turn around and perform a long jump. You will land on the checkerboard platform across the gap.

You can get two warps in the Footrace with Koopa the Quick in Bob-Bob Battlefield. The first one is located in a yellow flowerbed. The flowerbed is located right of the first wooden bridge that you will encounter. The second shortcut is located on the mountain. As you are traveling up the mountain, you will eventually come across a small cave. Go inside the cave, you will be transported to the top of the mountain.

This glitch can be done only when you have collected 120 stars. Use the cannon located in front of the castle to launch Mario to the highest attainable spot on the castle.

Once you reach that spot, jump and dive into the brick wall. You will eventually go right through the wall and enter a black room. To exit the black room, use the doors twice.
