Mega Man 2 improves greatly upon the original. In typical video game sequel style, the graphics, level design and game length have all been improved. The background graphical elements in Mega Man 2 are much more detailed than the original. The new enemy sprites are graphically impressive as well but are basically at the same graphical detail level as the original. Furthermore, in Mega Man 2, the level design contains several more puzzle elements (not that shooting baddies takes a back seat in this game) which is some times an interesting deviation from simply blasting enemies. Finally, Mega Man 2 contains more levels than the original providing for a longer game experience. Additionally, Capcom has included a password save feature so that one can save their progress.
Mega Man 2 builds upon the excellent game play of the original making it one of the best games on the NES.
Score - 9.5
