Mini-Review

In this game you take command of an army and fight battles in real time environments. Your army is divided into many units, which are fighting parties. During battles, your units are dispatched onto the battle field and they can be commanded to do various things such as attack an enemy unit, defend an area, etc. The goal of each mission is to capture the enemy headquarters. When opposing unites confront each other a battle ensues. Battle combat is automatic similar to the Advance Wars series.

Ogre Battle 64 is an epic of epic proportions. It is one of the most complex and involving games on the Nintendo 64. This is not a game for casual gamers. It takes a great deal of time and even more dedication to complete this game.

What sets this game apart from games like Advance Wars is that there are a great deal of RPG-like character advancements. To increase the strength of your army, you must train more characters, increase there skills to upgrade their fighting classes and purchase new weapons and armour.

This game is not for everyone, it is very complex and some gamers may simply lose interest in this game. However, others will enjoy this game greatly because it contains so many variables and options. No two people will play the game in the same way.
