Originally supposed to be a Game Boy Advance launch title in 2001, Rareware's It's Mr. Pants has had one of the longest development times of any Game Boy Advance game. Actually, It's Mr. Pants wasn't supposed to be called It's Mr. Pants at all. It was originally a puzzle game with characters from the Donkey Kong franchise called Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers. Once Nintendo sold Rare to Microsoft, development on Coconut Crackers was put on hiatus. It was re-tooled and used the Rareware website mascot Mr. Pants as its character. This game was published by THQ.

It's Mr. Pants is a simple and addictive puzzle game. The game is played in the following manner. You place puzzle pieces of various dimensions and colours on a game board. When pieces of the same colour form a square or rectangle greater in area than six tiles, it will disappear. Tiles of different colours can be placed on top of each other while tiles of the same colour cannot.
There are three game modes. Puzzle, wipeout and marathon. In puzzle mode you must clear the grid with only using a specified number of pieces. In wipeout, you are given two minutes of clear the grid using an unlimited number of pieces. In marathon mode the goal is to survive for 5 minutes while the play grid gradually shrinks in size.
While It's Mr. Pants is a simple puzzle game and has a very obscure title, it is a blast to play. You won't be able to put it down.
