Background

In the infinitely expanding universe there are five stars (planets) at the furthest edge. The Planet called 'Future Star' is a mechanized civilization, which protects the 4 neighbouring planets. A central computer controls the defense center on this tech-world. Disaster strikes when an alien shadow infiltrates the computer turning it into psychotic entity bent on universal domination. This being, called "Brain" sends out 4 blasts of energy that freeze all life on the other four planets, turning everything into cold metallic objects. A distress call is received at bomber base. Max and Bomberman set out to save the little creatures, called Charaboms, which inhabit the planets, and to rid the universe of the evil super-computer. Play as either Max or Bomberman, Max with the Red cartridge, or Bomberman with the Blue cartridge.

Mini-Review

I recommend this game to Bomberman fans, but I would suggest another Bomberman title if I wished to get someone interested in the Bomberman series. This game must have done something right, because their will be a release of a Bomberman Max sequel in the near future. I hope that this game will better incorporate the Charaboms into the gameplay. This was a good Bomberman game, but definitely not my favourite.
