Mini-Review

1080: Avalanche is an extreme sports snowboarding racing game. It has four game play modes: match race, time trial, gate challenge and Trick Attack. Match race is the main game play mode, where you race against one opponent on a course. In gate challenge you must race though various gates that are positioned in strategic locations on the course and reach checkpoints before the allotted time expires. In trick attack, you must perform stunts and attain a high score and in time trial you must race for the fastest time.

This game boasts some excellent graphics. Character animation and weather effects are very realistic. The game engine allows you to see great distances, which is essential for this type of game. The music consists of both licensed rock tracks as well as others composed specifically for the game. One's general enjoyment of the music will depend on their own specific tastes, but all of the songs fit with the game's theme.

This game also boasts a 4-player multiplayer racing mode with reduced graphical detail. This causes the overall multiplayer experience to less enjoyable than the single-player mode.

1080: Avalanche is a well designed game that is fun to play with one very apparent flaw - after you complete it, you end up wanting more. While this game contains a good number of game play modes, each mode is very short and easy to complete. This game doesn't have enough replay value.

Score - 7.5
